Lessons of Gratitude I Shared on my 1-Year Cancer Anniversary

On March 23, 2018, I marked the one-year anniversary of the double Radical Dissection surgeries that started my cancer treatment odyssey. After making it through 7-weeks of a daily radiation regimen, additional surgeries, and some touch-and-go moments that year, I took the opportunity on that anniversary date to post an update on my status to my friends on Facebook.

In that initial anniversary post, I share more than just the progress of my treatments (which was positive). I also expressed my gratitude for the lessons I learned and the love I received throughout that first year of my cancer journey. I still hold close one of these life lessons:

“This journey has taught me that no matter what the environmental, genetic, societal, relationship or other causes for the arrival of difficult events and experiences, it is how I show up every day in my life that matters most.” Still grateful to be able to say, …Love to you all! Bruce

And still today, I say …. Love to you ALL! Bruce
